Match Report

It was 46 degrees when I got to the range this morning and it warmed up nicely.  It was a perfect day for the match, but once again, I forgot to bring my camera to capture all of those smiling faces.  Oh well, . . .

We had 45 shooters, 40 for the match and 5 for the Classifier.  This was our second month to use squads and it didn't run as smoothly as it did last month.  We seemed to have a bottleneck we didn't have last month, so we'll be looking at this and try to determine what caused it so we can prevent it in November. It was a pretty complex match using three Allen Actuators each activating multiple moving targets.  This ads to the length of a match, but it sure makes it fun.

Tim Fisher did our scenarios again this month.  It has gotten to the point that people can tell when Tim has created the scenarios -- they just have a feel about them that says a lot of thought went into their creation.  I especially liked using the Allen Actuators to "mark" a foot-fault area when using, or should I say not using, cover properly.  This is just an example of the work Tim puts into his scenarios.  Thanks Tim!

I guess people have caught up on their Classifiers for the year.  For the first time in a while, we only had five people shooting the Classifier.  Our next scheduled Classifier will be in January.

In case you are wondering, yes we are going to have a November match.  We realize a lot of our regular shooters may be traveling for Thanksgiving that week, and if you are, we hope you have a safe trip and a wonderful time.  Those who will be home while the wife is shopping on Saturday after Thanksgiving, please join us.  Of course, we would like it better if you would bring the wife also, and both of you can go shopping after the match.  (Yeah, I know.)

Thanks to our SO's:  Steve & Donna Vandermolen, Garry Newton, Rick Brown, Jeremy Thompson and Dave Eickhoff.  These SO's are among our faithful few who make the match possible.  If you are an SO, help us express our appreciation to these folks by volunteering to SO some matches so we can give this crew some rest!!

Thanks also to the SO's and squads that stayed to help us break down the scenarios.  Your help is appreciated more than you know.

We still need three (3) SO's for the November match.  Please send me an email if you can help!!

Thanks for a fun and safe match and we hope to see you in November.  Again, for those traveling, we wish you the best and come see us when you get back.

Chas.
