Match ReportWhat great weather we had for the match! We also had a lot of new shooters with us for the first time and we hope you had a great time. Here are a few tips from the SO's: 1) Be sure to keep the muzzle pointed at the backstop at all times during the reloads; 2) Make sure you don't sweep yourself, including your hand, with the muzzle of your gun when reholstering; and 3) be sure to keep the muzzle from pointing over the backstop during the draw stroke. These a just a few tips for the new folks. We were surprised at the turnout; we thought we would have a very small group, so the match was designed to be a simple, quick match that would get folks back home and putting up Christmas decorations before noon. Obviously, it didn't work out that way. I think we had a few folks from www.TexasCHLforum.com shooting with us this month and we are glad you came. This was our last match for the year. The December match would have fallen on December 23rd and we doubt many people would be shooting a match two days before Christmas. It has been another great year for PSC-IDPA and we want to thank everyone who made it all possible. We will be scheduling the annual Shooter Appreciation & SO Award Dinner sometime next month, so be sure you are on our email list if you want to get notice. The dinner will also be posted in the Announcements section. I would like to thank Marc for selecting the scenarios for this month's match. We have been working trying to get our new walls and trailer finished for the match, but simply ran out of time. Then, I lost the scenarios we had developed for this month, so Marc volunteered to put some together at the last minute. I also want to thank all of our SO's two of whom volunteered to fill in for some folks who couldn't make it this month. Our November SO's were: Dave E., Gil M., Dave C., Bob W. and Gordon C. We also had a good number of people help us tear down the match and you have our thanks as well. Jason came out at 7:00 am to help, but Kimberly was conspicuously missing until much later. Hmmm . . . Since the October match was rained out, we ran a Classifier this month as a make-up. The January match will also have a Classifier, as we return to our regular schedule of running a Classifier quarterly on the first month of each calendar quarter. MATCH FEE INCREASE Beginning with the January Match, our match fees will increase by $2 for PSC members and by $3 for non-PSC members. In the nine year history of the PSC-IDPA Match we have never raised our match fees and we regret having to do so now. However, all of our expenses have increased dramatically over the last nine years and we kept the increase to a minimum. The new rates are $12 for PSC members and $18 for non-PSC members. |
