Match ReportWe had 31 shooters for the match and 8 for the Classifier for a shortened match this month. We ran 6 scenarios in 3 bays, rather than our normal 10 scenarios in 5 bays. The Classifier was a separate match in Bay B. We had to make the match shorter so we could get to the luncheon before everyone starved to death, or the monsoon struck. We barely beat the rain. We had a number of new shooters and we hope they had a great time and come back next month. We hosted our first annual Shooter Appreciation & SO Award Luncheon immediately after the match. We had 33 people join us, including 14 of our hard-working SO's. The meal was catered by Central Texas BBQ in Pearland and it was great! We are going to continue this luncheon annually after the January match and we hope to see even more folks next year. One lucky SO was the winner of a Springfield XD-40. Interested in becoming a Certified IDPA Safety Officer (SO)? We are always looking for more SO's to work our monthly matches. If you are interested in becoming an SO, then send me an email and I'll pass this information along to one of the SO intructors and we'll schedule a class. It's a great way to learn more about running an IDPA match and to lend your support to continued growth of IDPA. Thanks for shooting with us and we hope to see you back next month. |
