Match Report

I was not at the match, so Marc ran the IDPA portion of the combined IDPA/IPSC benefit match. Thanks, Chas.

A Few Words of Appreciation from Marc:

Eric Achord was, again, a workhorse. He helped with setup for a couple of hours Friday evening, then was back at 7:00 AM Saturday to finish set up and help run the day. He helped the women's program set up the 'cafe,' made scoresheet runs, volunteered to help wherever he could, and shouldered a lot of the tear down/clean up.

Bob Wolf, Danny Stowers, Gary Burris and Tim Fisher SO'd, and all contributed to the set up. With IPSC folks 'crossing over,' it turned into a longer match than we thought. That plus the hot, muggy weather taxed them heavily, but they hung in there and did a great job, and helped with tear down as well.

Fran Coppinger, Sharon Varble and Mary Carroll, all from the women's program, did an outstanding job setting up and running the "cafe." I found out they each put a substantial amount of their own money into the food. Fran also said some of other ladies from the women's' program helped her get food ready during the week, but did not give me any names. Thanks to all of them who helped in any way.

The match had 67 registered shooters. Most shot both IDPA and IPSC, while some only shot one or the other. One veteran IPSC shooter, after his first IDPA experience, commented "I've never had to shoot backing up before." The day was a huge success financially. Between match fees and income from the food a little over $ 2,000 was raised for the Simpsons.

To all who came together to help little Julia, from the workers to the competitors, we at PSC-IDPA give our heart-felt thanks!

Marc
