Match Report

We had 34 shooters for the match and 9 for the Classifier. The weather was great and we'd better enjoy it as summer is rapidly approaching. Everyone be sure to bring your IDPA cards next match so we can get that information into the software. Our plan was to start using the barcode scanner for sign up and scoring, but I have to be out of town and won't be able to get that going for the May match.

We have switched to a new type of target stand that will greatly speed setting up and tearing down the match. Using these target stands and the new sand bags, we hope to never have to use a spike and hammer again. We also are using all new PVC and Coroplast Bianchi barricades, using sandbags, rather than spikes. Marc and I had a great opportunity wind test the new stands, Bianchi barricades and sandbags on Friday, while we were filling and tying 100 of the little buggers. With 20 mph winds gusting to 34 mph, the stands held fine with only one bag. I can't tell you how much this will help match set up!

Thanks for coming and for a safe match. Come back and see us next month and don't forget to register for the Texas State IDPA Championship. The Early Bird drawing deadline is April 15, 2005. Also, the match fee goes up to $85 on April 16, 2005. (Click on the State Match button.)

REMINDER!!

IDPA rules allow shooters to shoot the first match without being a member to see if they like IDPA style shooting. After the first match, you must join IDPA to continue shooting any IDPA match. In setting up the new scoring software and getting ready for the barcode scanners and printers, it has come to our attention that some of our shooters are not IDPA members. You can go to the IDPA website and download the membership application, but please do so soon so you will have your card by the May match. Now that this information has come to our attention, we will not be able to let anyone shoot without an IDPA card, unless this is your first match.
